Geoquest France proudly participated in the Seine-Nord Europe Canal, a structuring infrastructure which traverses the Hauts-de-France region, creating a vital waterway link between France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, allowing for a more sustainable transport route between Paris and the ports of the North Sea.<\/p>\n
Some preparation works done by Nord confluences consortium led by Groupe Roger Martin and involving several other contractors included restoring road accesses thanks to three bridges across three waterways. One of the most outstanding bridge is on the Seine-Nord Canal itself with a total span of 105 m.<\/p>\n
In these challenging footprint conditions, the works involved the design and construction of 14 Reinforced Earth\u00ae retaining walls for bridges abutments, reaching a maximum height of 13 meters. Due to the use of lime treatment for reinforced earth backfills, we provided EcoStrap\u00ae reinforcements (made of PVA fiber) to bring to the project the highest durability in this high soil pH context.<\/p>\n
Throughout the construction phase, in addition to retaining structures design, our team was also involved in technical assistance on site to ensure proper understanding of installation methods from last 2023 quarter to end of 2024.<\/p>\n
